Mission Projects
United Methodists are mission oriented and socially conscious. This is important to our faith. We are aware of world events and strive to help those in need.
Here's how we at Acushnet-Wesley are working to do our part. If you can contribute, it would be greatly appreciated!
The Aluminum Project Aluminum collected is redeemed for diapers for low-income families.
Clean refundable bottles and cans for missions.
Cell phones for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Prayer Shawl Ministry- Prayer Shawls are prayed over and given to those who need comfort. Anyone who would like to knit or crochet a shawl and donate it, it will be greatly appreciated. If you know of anyone in need of a Prayer Shawl let us know!
Eye Glasses- We are collecting old eye glasses to be given to those in Third World Countries. Drop them in the box in the meeting room.
Computers for Seniors- We have some computers to give to Seniors in need. Let us know if you know someone that would like one.
Children's Wish List for kid's in Shriners' Hospitals- Collect and bring in your soda can pull tabs.
Disability Aids- There is a sign up sheet in the fellowship room for anyone who might have any disability aids that they would be willing to lend to anyone in need. Items such as crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, shower seats, toilets seats, tub handles etc, are always in need. Please do not bring them to church as we have no place to store them. If we know of a need we will contact you and arrange to have them picked up.
